September - December 2007 Visiting professor, Biomedical Optics Laboratories, The University of Minnesota at Twin Cities, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.
  Principal investigator in "Temperature dependence of tissue physical properties using spectral domain OCT techniques," a 2219-project fully supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of TURKEY.
   
Summer 2000 to Summer 2002 Invited senior research fellow, Lasercentrum, Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam , the NETHERLANDS.
  Participant in "Optical Coherence Tomography: Theoretical and Practical Limitations of Minimally-Invasive Imaging of Biological Tissues," a project supported by the Dutch Governmental Research Foundation of Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM) and Philips Research.

  • Extensive laboratory experience in laser applications in medicine and extensive knowledge on laser-tissue interactions.
  • Extensive laboratory experience with thermographic and radiometric equipment.
  • Maintained the Apple Macintosh computer facility of BELL.
  • Maintained selected laboratory equipment including UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometers, cw 10 and 20 W Argon Ion, and super-pulsed/cw 10 W cryogenically cooled Ho:YAG lasers.
