Samet Ceri completed his undergraduate studies in 2016 as the top-ranking student of the Faculty of Engineering at Bursa Technical University, Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 2018, he was admitted to the MSc program in Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London, where he later completed his PhD in 2025. His doctoral research focused on hypervelocity impact, Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), FEM-SPH numerical methods, and acoustic signal characterization.
Ceri began his academic career in 2017 as a research assistant in the Faculty of Engineering at Bursa Technical University. Between 2021 and 2023, he served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London. In 2025, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University.
His research interests include impact engineering, numerical modelling (FEM, SPH, and meshless methods), fracture and damage mechanics, structural health monitoring, signal processing, signal characterization, and impact-induced damage detection.
