ABOUT ME

Samet Ceri graduated in 2016 as the top-ranking student of the Faculty of Engineering at Bursa Technical University, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was admitted to the MSc program in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London in 2018 and completed his PhD at the same institution in 2025. His doctoral research focused on hypervelocity impact, Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), FEM–SPH numerical methods, and acoustic signal characterization.

Ceri began his academic career in 2017 as a research assistant at the Faculty of Engineering, Bursa Technical University. From 2021 to 2023, he served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London. In 2025, he joined the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University as an Assistant Professor.

His research interests include impact engineering, advanced numerical modelling (FEM, SPH, and meshless methods), fracture and damage mechanics, structural health monitoring, signal processing, signal characterization, and impact-induced damage detection.
