ABOUT ME
Çiğdem GÖKSEL (Denizyaranlı) graduated from Beşiktaş Girls' High School. She began her education in 1979 at Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering, graduating in 1984. Starting as a research Assistant in the same department in 1986, Göksel completed her Master's degree in 1989 and her PhD in 1996. In 1998, she was appointed Assistant Professor in the Remote Sensing Department of the Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering Department at ITU. In 1999, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher for six months at Murray State University, Geoscience-Mid-America Remote Sensing Center in the USA. Göksel, who became an Associate Professor in 2012 and a Professor in 2019, has more than 150 international/national publications in books, book chapters, international peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and project reports. Having held numerous administrative positions at ITU and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Göksel is currently a member of the ITU Senate Education Committee. Additionally, she volunteers for civil society as a Board Member and General Secretary of the Koruncuk Foundation.
