ABOUT ME

H. E. Karahan completed his Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Nanyang Technological University. He holds BSc degrees in Chemical Engineering, and Molecular Biology & Genetics from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), and an MSc degree in Materials Science & Engineering (MSc, Koç University). He gained postdoctoral experience in Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute, The University of Sydney, Kyoto University (JSPS Fellow), ITU (TÜBİTAK-BİDEB-2221 Fellow), Arizona State University (Fulbright Fellow), and CNRS/Unistra (MSCA Fellow). He received the Brian Kelly Award and Carbon Journal Prize. His research interests include nanocarbons, coatings, self-assembly, antimicrobial materials, cellular toxicity, membrane technology, and sustainable processes. He will establish the Bio-Resourced Advanced Materials and Processes (BioRAMP) program with the support of TÜBİTAK-BİDEB-2232-B in 2025.
