My research area covers mostly robotics and automotive technology such as; autonomous/semi-autonomous ground vehicles, mobile robots, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), automated guided vehicles (AGV), trajectory planning, obstacle/collision avoidance, active safety in road vehicles, machine learning and control of hybrid electric vehicles. I have been giving lectures on automatic control, mechatronics system design, mechatronic system components, vehicle dynamics and control for both undergraduate and graduate students. My research team completed several projects which were funded by Tubitak and Istanbul Technical University, successfully. One of my active projects as a Principle Investigator is entitled as “Development and Implementation of Advanced Autonomous Driving Algorithms for Autonomous Mobility” which is funded by Tubitak (1001) and will be active until September 2024. I have been providing consultancy to several companies about autonomous driving, AGVs and energy management of vehicles.
